the City without Sleep
La Cité sans Sommeil is a tragi-comic fiction by the poet Jean Tardieu.
The play tells the story of a city run by "the promoter", who makes the vaccine against sleep compulsory. In this city, nobody sleeps anymore. A few diehards try to escape this dictatorship of permanent, compulsory day-and-night activity.
