lezardnormand.com is the digital communication medium for our association: La Compagnie du Nouveau Monde.

The association was set up in 1988 to enable a first theatrical project to see the light of day: Jean-Jacques Rousseau's play "La découverte du nouveau monde", adapted and brought to the stage by Clément Révérend. The first production by this graduate of theEcole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre at the Centre des Arts de Pointe-à-Pître (Guadeloupe), was developed as part of a drama training-creation workshop, with the support of the Ministry of Overseas Departments and the French Revolution Bicentenary Mission.
The play was subsequently revived at the Butte-Montmartre Festival in Paris in 1989.

The purpose of the professional company is to produce, direct and train shows, films and artistic events in the fields of theater, audiovisual, music and visual arts.

Between 1995 and 1999, the association opened "Le Trompe-l'Œil" in Vernon (Eure). An ephemeral venue, with a varied and open-ended program, which enabled a mainly local audience to discover, during these artistic and convivial evenings:
Jean Rouch, Céline Caussimon, Michael Mac Donnell, Marina Rodriguez-Tomé, Alain Silly... came to present their creations.

Since 2000, it has been very active in the social field. Linked since 2017 with the association La Source-Garouste,
created by Elisabeth and Gérard Garouste, painter and sculptor, the association regularly offers workshops in spontaneous theater, audiovisual and plastic arts, performances and artistic events, in several regions of France.
It offers isolated, fragile or remote publics from artistic practices, times of sharing on collective creations.

The Compagnie du Nouveau Monde is also a poetic universe, a laboratory for audiovisual, theatrical and musical creation, open to research, training and creative projects in these fields. We regularly put on performances and workshops.We work for a social and human dimension in artistic and cultural creation and communication.

Since 2023, the company has been active in European Erasmus+ programs, with the Tamus and e-Handi Tour projects. These projects promote inclusion through artistic mediation.

The association is supported by the Conseil Départemental de l'Eure, the town of Vernon, Seine Normandie Agglomération,
Inpact endowment fund for cultural sharing, Erasmus+.
